Daily News

It was good to see a greater number of you submitting work to ClassDojo yesterday. Please keep this up!

There are still a couple of class members I have not heard from. As a reminder, these instructions tell you how to submit work to your portfolio:

https://classdojo.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022857031-How-to-Post-to-a-Student-Portfolio#web

It is better to send to your portfolio as I can respond directly to each piece of work. The message section is designed for conversations between me and parents.

If you are struggling to get into ClassDojo, leave me a comment below on this blog and I can help you further.

Mr Simmons’ Joke of the Day

Why did the boy stare at his glass of orange juice for hours?

On the container it said ‘concentrate’.

Maths

Today, a recap on understanding thousandths with decimals.

The accompanying questions can be downloaded here:

[As before, answers on a piece of paper with clear question numbers will be fine if you are unable to print these out]

After doing the activity, please mark your own work before submitting your photograph – the answers are in this link below.

English

Our newspaper writing continues today as we learn how to write the opening paragraph (also known in newspapers as an orientation).

Reading

During the week I would like you to read for at least 30 minutes each day. You can get more ideas and suggestions of reading material from the Reading@Home section above.

Music

In your Class Dojo portfolio you should have received login information from me for Yumu – this is an online music learning platform which is run by Charanga (who we do music at school through). This should look something like this:

Use the login information and start to work through the unit entitled ‘Plastic’. I do not expect you to go through the whole unit today – we will keep coming back to this over the coming days.

This is a new program which I have not used very much. Any problems, let me know and we can work it out together!

Stay in Touch

Please stay in touch, letting us know how you are getting on with your learning.
