Wednesday 13th January
Daily News
Good morning. First, I would like to share with you one fantastic example of the artwork from yesterday’s session. I was really impressed with this perspective picture from Iris. Well done!
I will try and share other great examples of work with you as we go through the weeks ahead.
Good news! Today sees the launch of our Curlews Inter-House battle on Times Table Rock Stars. Use your login and start scoring big for your house team (Red, Yellow, Green or Blue). I have restricted the hours of competition to between 7am and 7pm this time and the competition will finish next Wednesday (20th January) at midday. I will obviously keep you updated on the progress in the competition.
In addition, why not join in with this live PE lesson later on today:
Mr Simmons’ Joke of the Day
I failed my maths test because I’ll stop at nothing to avoid using negative numbers.
Maths
We have a temporary return to a White Rose lesson today which looks at how to multiply decimals by an integer (a whole number).
The accompanying questions can be downloaded here:
[As before, answers on a piece of paper with clear question numbers will be fine if you are unable to print these out]
English
Yesterday you wrote the recount. Today looks at the important skill of editing. I know this is a part of writing many of you are reluctant to do this, but please believe me that it really does enhance your writing greatly. Follow the activities here:

Reading
I would like you to read for at least 30 minutes each day. You can get more ideas and suggestions of reading material from the Reading@Home section above.
Geography
Today we are ready to start our topic on Brazil.
Follow the link below for the activity. I have tried to adapt the lesson I had planned to do in class – I hope you will be able to make a good start with it.
Keep a record of all your answers and remember to upload these to Class Dojo. You may find that today’s lesson takes a while. If so, you can always continue with this at a later date – the learning will stay online.
Stay in Touch
Please stay in touch, letting us know how you are getting on with your learning.
