Daily News

It is still pretty close between us and Year 4 in the TTR Battle. I think we can make a leap today if everyone logs on and scores some points!

It’s Friday already! I am looking forward to seeing you again today in our Teams meetings.

Mr Simmons’ Joke of the Day

Maths

As we finish our work on percentages, you have a bit of a choice today depending on your confidence levels with the work we have been doing.

Korma: Go back over some of the previous lessons and have a look at any of the questions that you struggled with first time around. Rewatch the videos for extra support.

Madras: Watch the video below, pause it and have a go at the problem. Then watch the solution and see if you got the question correct.

Vindaloo: Do the Madras activity in the video, then have a go at these super challenges:

English

It’s the presentation day of your newspaper article. This is the culmination of the full week’s work – I have been really impressed with the quality of some of the writing across the class this week. If you have access to a computer, it would be great to see these typed up. You are able to submit Word documents on ClassDojo (if you are logged into a PC) as a file. Unfortunately it is not possible to do this on the mobile app for Dojo.

After you finish, you may like to watch this video of The Highwayman. I really like the way this has been animated.

Reading

I would like you to read for at least 30 minutes each day. You can get more ideas and suggestions of reading material from the Reading@Home section above.

Catch Up Friday

Have you taken and submitted your photo for the competition? Have you finished off all the previous learning? Is there anything that you would like to carry on with? Use your remaining time today to catch up on your learning before we begin the final week of this half term.

I know that a number of families enjoyed finding out about Spaceport Cornwall last week. If you didn’t watch the presentation, you can see a shortened version here:

https://spaceportcornwall.com/spaceport-competition.html

After watching the video, have a go at the challenge – as well as standing the chance to win merchandise, you may also win VIP tickets to be present for the first space launch next year!

The Challenge

Create a poster that highlights the benefits of Spaceport Cornwall and the wider space sector to Cornwall and to the general population (including you). The information about this is within the video.

Create your poster, take a photo and submit to posters@spaceportcornwall.com

In your email please include your name, age and school

Entries must be received by 5pm on the 28th of February.

Family Challenge

The 3 letters are different for each question, but the 3 letters always spell a word.

Stay in Touch

Please stay in touch, letting us know how you are getting on with your learning.
